Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 August 2026
By downloading or using Expensio, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing or using Expensio you accept these terms. If you disagree with any part of them, please do not use the app.
2. Description of Service
Expensio is a personal expense and money-tracking app offering transactions, budgets, accounts, credit cards, analytics, brand tagging, savings goals, statements and PDF export, Google Drive backup, home-screen widgets and voice entry. It is available on Android today; the iPhone app is released in September 2026.
Some features are specific to one platform. Auto-capture from bank notifications is Android only, and permanently so — Apple provides no way for an app to read another app’s notifications or your SMS. Home-screen widgets and app-icon shortcuts are also Android only at present and are planned for a later iPhone release. On iPhone, quick entry is instead handled by Siri and Shortcuts, which also surface the app through Spotlight, the Action button and Control Center. Voice Quick Add, card scanning and every other feature work the same on both platforms.
Expensio is not a bank, payment processor or financial advisor. The core tracking and budgeting features are free; an optional Pro subscription unlocks advanced features.
3. User Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter.
- You are responsible for securing your device and keeping your own backups.
- You agree not to use the app for unlawful purposes or to reverse-engineer it.
4. Financial Disclaimer
Expensio provides tools, not financial advice. Where auto-capture is available (Android), auto-captured transactions are best-effort and may be incomplete or inaccurate. The same applies to entries created by voice or by Siri, which depend on speech recognition and may mis-hear an amount or a merchant. Always verify your own records before relying on anything the app reports.
5. Data Ownership
You own all the data you enter. It lives on your device and, optionally, in your own Google Drive backup. Uninstalling the app without a backup permanently deletes your data.
6. Credit Card Information
Expensio stores only a card's name, last 4 digits, credit limit and bill date. It never stores full card numbers or CVV.
7. Notification Access (Android only)
If you enable Auto-Capture on Android, the app reads bank notifications solely to detect transactions, entirely on your device. You can revoke it at any time in system settings or by turning the feature off. This section does not apply on iPhone, where the app has no such access and never requests it.
8. Siri & Shortcuts (iPhone)
If you use Siri or a Shortcut to add a transaction, your spoken request is processed by Apple and only the finished result is passed to Expensio, which saves it to your device as if you had typed it. Your use of Siri is subject to Apple's own terms and privacy policy; we have no control over it and receive no audio.
9. Intellectual Property
The Expensio name, logo and application are the property of their developers and may not be copied or reused without permission.
10. Limitation of Liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of data or any damages arising from your use of the app.
11. Termination
You may stop using Expensio at any time by uninstalling it.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
